Le photographe italien Giuseppe Pino est mort le 14 septembre 2022 à l'âge de 82 ans. Né à Milan en 1940, Pino se consacre assez tôt au graphisme et à la photographie. A partir de 1967, il collabore à l'hebdomadaire italien d'actualités Panorama et en conçoit les couvertures. En 1973, il s'installe à New York, fréquente la Factory d'Andy Warhol et travaille pour son magazine Interview. Parallèlement, il suit la scène américaine du jazz contemporain. Ses portraits de grands musiciens, comme ceux iconiques de Miles Davis, le rendent célèbre. Dans les années 1980, Giuseppe Pino quitte New York et rentre en Italie où il poursuivra son travail de portraitiste. En 1985, il photographie Robert Palmer à Milan pour la couverture de l'album Riptide.
Italian photographer Giuseppe Pino has died on September 14, 2022, at the age of 82. Born in Milan in 1940, Pino devoted himself quite early to graphic design and photography. From 1967, he collaborated with the Italian weekly news magazine Panorama and designed its covers. In 1973, he moved to New York, frequented Andy Warhol's Factory and worked for his magazine Interview. At the same time, he was following the American contemporary jazz scene. His portraits of great musicians, such as the iconic ones with Miles Davis, made him famous. In the 1980s, Giuseppe Pino left New York and returned to Italy where he continued his work as a portrait photographer. In 1985, he shot Robert Palmer in Milan for the cover of the album Riptide.
